Grand Prize: “Cruising with the King” aboard a Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship

The Fifth Annual Contest of Kings is scheduled at Mall of America Friday evening, April 18th and Saturday afternoon and evening, April 19th. This is a charity event for the Anoka County Arts Alliance.

This year Elvis Tribute Artists from around the world will gather to compete for the Grand Prize of a Caribbean Cruise and offered a contract to appear for Cruising with the King aboard Royal Caribbean International!

ROUND ONE will start Friday, April 18th at 6pm.

During this round each contestant will perform two or three songs of his choice in the Rotunda area of the Mall of America as they are cheered on by fans lining the rails up to the fourth floor!

ROUND TWO will begin Saturday, April 19th at 12 o'clock noon.

This will be a second opportunity for each contestant to strut his way down the runway stage before thousands of crazy, screaming fans!

Little Elvis Performance will begin Saturday, April 19th at 3 o'clock .

This year we are adding as a permanent part of "Contest of Kings" a time for our "under-16" Elvis Tribute Artists to perform on the big stage in the Mall of America. Each "Little Elvis" will perform one song and then rotate to the next "Little Elvis" in line. Usually, the kids get to perform four to six songs each during this time to thunderous applause by the audience. After this there is a two-hour break for dinner.

FINALIST ROUND will begin Saturday, April 19th at 6 pm.

The finalists from rounds one and two will advance to the final round and perform three songs each. During this finalist round our contributing donor audience will be given the opportunity to cast their votes for our new champion.

SHOWCASE ROUND

While the judges are tallying up this year's winner our 2007 Grand Champion, Steve Marcio, will perform a 30 minute concert.

CHAMPIONSHIP CEREMONY

Will follow immediately after the Showcase. The awarding of prizes for this year’s best Elvis Tribute Artists will be presented on stage with our New Grand Champion singing one final song.

Along with a prize purse worth over $2,000 paid out to the top finalists, the winner will be invited to come back as our Featured Artist at next year’s contest.

For this year’s contest we will accept up to 30 talented impersonators.
Prizes will be awarded as follows:

For a field of up to 20 contestants:

1st Place Prize: $400.00 cash PLUS A Caribbean Cruise and contract to perform Elvis onboard.*
2nd Place Prize: $600.00 cash
3rd Place Prize: $500.00 cash

A fourth place prize of $400.00 will be added for a field of 21-25 contestants.
A fifth place prize of $300.00 will be added for a field of 26-30 contestants.

* Prize worth $1000.00
